Yoga
I’m Rachel, a yoga teacher who has spent the last 12 years both studying and practising yoga. I initially came to yoga as a therapeutic approach, during times of high stress and anxiety at university. I remember so vividly attending my first class and having a deep feeling that this would be my path someday.
I share yoga not only as a physical practice, but as a spiritual and emotional one. My approach blends ancient wisdom with mindfulness and somatic awareness — both modalities I am trained in. My yoga meets every individual where they are — not where they think they should be — and I remove any ‘competitive’ approaches from my own practice and the yoga I teach others — a lesson I learnt personally, after overstriving led to an injury that took a year to finally heal.
I trained under Loka Yoga School in Bali (200hr + Yin Yoga). I am Menopause Yoga trained with Sally Parkes Yoga, Children’s Yoga trained, and have worked to bring mindfulness and yoga to schools both in the UK and internationally. I am also a qualified Somatic and Breathwork Facilitator, and trained with Yoga Union Bali. Yoga is more than the qualifications you hold, or the poses you know — it’s the way you live your life, show up for others, and the values you hold for yourself. This is what my yoga teaches, and it’s why so many of my clients feel safe, supported and seen in my classes.
I am currently teaching in-person at Flourish Wellness Tunbridge Wells & Boundes Oak Tunbridge Wells.
I teach online for free (donation-based) twice a week on Insight Timer, offering short yoga classes in Yin, Somatic and Restorative Yoga — come and join and be part of the growing community.
If you’re interested in 1-1 yoga online to support nervous system health, a programme tailored to you, I suggest you reach out for a virtual coffee so we can chat about my approach and whether it’s what you’re looking for.
“I honour the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honour the place in you that is of love, of light and peace. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, we are one.”
